TAIT'S "LIVING PICTURES."
Thanks to the discoveries of t'u scientist, the dim, flick-Ting lantern show oE a few years ago has given place to a clear, steady, moving picture. A series of these beautiful animated pictures will be shown at the Theatre Royal for one night on Thurshay, th. 19th July, when Messrs J. and N. Tait, whose recent visit to New Ply mouth will be well remembered, will open a short season. Among the pictures of a particularly interesting serio> is one entitled "Sunny.Ceylon," giyinp a very Irue impression oE lite in thai char uin; islind. It represents t'uhigh 'St achievements in colored bio graphic effects, and shows the islands charming scenery, a herd of elephants bazaars, traders, etc Part .of tinspicture is taken from a trim on n journey between Colombo and Kindy Another picture of groat interest in the launching of H.M.S. Dreadnought, at Portsmouth, the christening oeremony being performed by King Edward Rome, Venice, Vesuvius in active erup : tion, and the Funicular Railway are all interesting pinlu-os. "The Hen th-it Liid the Goldon Egg" is a mastorpieoe in colored animated photo graphy, and tobagganing in Switzerland and the Polar Rontons are ea«h represented by some very fine films The humorous sootion is well provided for by somo excellent pictures of an entirely new order.
