HEBRIDES' MASSACRES.

Received 10,1.10 p.m. Sydney, July 9. H.M.S. Prometheus has returned from her Island cruise. News was received of the massacre of the crew of a French cruiser at the Hebrides, but no details were obtained. She also reports that the French cruiser Vaucluse visited the west coast of Mallicolo to avenge the murder of the crew of the cutter Lily, which occurred last year. Ttic natives made themselves scarce, and the eruiser destroyed the village and a number of pigs.
