IMPERIAL POLITICS.
A RADICAL PROPOSAL. London, July 8. Mr Lloyd-George (President of the Board of Trade), speaking at Shotleigh Bridge, Durham, declared that the existing machinery of Government was old, and the time had arriyed to place it on the scrap heap. This was especially the case with the House of Lords, lie advocated the delegation of local interests in Ireland, Scotland and Wales to local bodies, leaving Imperial and national affairs to be dealt with by the Imperial Parliament. JUSTICE GRANTHAM ADVISED TO RESIGN. Received 'J, 'J.II p.m. London, July U. " The Time*" and several Unionist journals imply it is desirable that Judge Grartham should accept a pension.
