| Chbistchdbch, July 9. The body of Henry Woolridgo, a resident of Papanui, was found in the Jeathcoto estuary, between Sumner ind New Brighton, yesterday. Wool. Iridge was seventy years of age, and lad been missing from home sinoe Wednesday morning. His disappearmce had caused great anxiety, as he ivas in a weak state of health.
Nelson, July 9. A fatal boat accident occurred on Saturday in tho Motueka Biver, which is in flood. Three young men were crossing in a canoe near the site of the new bridge, and were carried down itrcam by tho strong current running on to some staging in the river. The canoe overturned, and ono of the occupants, Reuben Grooby, aged 17, a son of Mr Thomas Grooby, of Bocky lliyer, was drowned, Tho other occupants managed to climb up on to the staging.
