Eeceived i, 11.20 p.m. Sydsit, July 4. The tramway trouble has been accentuated by the dismissal of Lawton, President of the Tramway Employees' Union, from the service. The grounds of dismissal are that he signed and caused to be exhibited at various tramway depots an objectionable notice, calculated to sibvert discipline. He also disobeyed the order of the {Superintendent to remove the notice, ' objected to its beinp covered, and refused to answer the questions of his superior officers. The matter of the notice referred to, was calling a meeting of the Union to discuss tramway administration, and announcing that startling disclosures would be made. Lawton, presiding at this meeting, aired a number of grievances of the men, and also alleged favoritism, and official ineptitude. He also alleged that the tram brakes were inefficient and dangerous. The men's chief grievances are with regard to a day of, Sunday pay and alleged favoritism. THE MEN ABSOLUTE. Becerred 6,1.3 a.m. Btd:jit, July 4. Developments in the tramway's dispute are anxiously awaited. The Ben declare their determination to stand by Lawton and fight for the removal of their grievances, but have no intention of dislocating traffic. A meeting to-night is discussing the situation.
