——. m MM FSZSI ASSOCUTIOS. Dcnedis, July 5. The City Council to-night, after a ' conference with Bobert English, consulting engineer, decided to appoint M. Hungerford, assistant engineer ai Chrutchurch gas works, as manager. at a salary of £3OO per annum, and appointed T. Dow as acting foreman. Mr English submitted a report on the extensions to be proceeded with at once at a cost of i'so,o<">. The Council rejected the proposals to instruct the general committee to report on the matter of procuring a site and building for a new fire brigade station with new appliance*, etc.
