A BRITISH EMPIRE CLUB.
FORMED IN LOXDOX. LVFLCTENTIALLY SUPPORTED. Received 1, p.m. LuM'.in, July 2. The Council of the British Empire League is assisting in the formation of a British Empire Club, under limited liability, whose members will be privileged to introduce, as honorary members', friends temporarily visiting London from other parts of the Empire. There are already fire hundred influential supporters, including one hundred and fifty Peers and Commoners, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, the Duke of Devonshire, Lord Rosebery, Lord Linlithgow, Mr Balfour, Sir E. Grey, and Hon. Air Lyttelton. The committee of management include* Earl Derby (chairman), Lord Onlow, Lord Ampthill. Lord Brassey, Lord Rothschild, Sir John Cockburn, and Mr Felix Schuster The Club has been established in memory of its projector, the late Sir Robert Herbert, and will lie situated among the lending West End Clubs.
