FEIDAY, 29th JUNE. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, June 25. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Council mot at 2.30 Hon. W. Carneross moved the Ad-drcss-in-Reply, and the Hon, Mr Jeukinson seconded. The address was carried. The Council adjourned for the Imprest Supply Bill. Lateb The C«>; ■•'! met at 8 p.m. and passed the Hal through ail its stages. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Tho House met at 2 30. p.m. Leave of absence for the remainder of the session was grunted to Sir J. G. Ward, aud Messrs MoNiib, Kaihau Aitken, Bollard, and Fowlds. The Premier, in moving, explained Us position, namely that he holds office till Sir Joseph Ward returns. An adjournment, he thought, would be necessary till the 14th August, lie undertaking that the House will meet some day between the 14th and 21st.
The Address-in-Replywas moved by Mr Millar, and seconded by Mr Baumc, both of whom took the opportunity to deliver eulogies of the late Premier. The address was adopted without division, or further comment. The Public Revenues Amendment Act, enabling imprest supply to be granted, was read a first time, and tho House adjourned till 4.15, to enable members to peruse the same. On resuming the Premier moved the second reading, cxp'aining the clause. The Leader of the Opposition and Messrs Allen and Herries spoke, urging the need of going on with the business instead of adjourning. The Premier replied, and the Bill went through all its remaining stages, Tho House met at 8.15 and resolved, at its rising, to adjourn till Wednesday next, out of respect to the memory of the late Premier, the Eight Hon. E. J. Seddon. The House then adjourned till 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday next.
