A letter was read from Mr 0. Samuel, tho Board's solicitor, stating the Board had no power to make a grant towards the cost of construction of the New Plymouth Technical School building.

1 On tho motion of Mr Dockrill, seconded by Mr Smith, it was resolved : 1 " That this Board recognises that a fully-equipped Technical School would be of the greatest advantage to this district, and particularly to many of

the scholars attending our school, and are therefore willing to contribute to tho erection, equipment, or otherwise, of the Technical School which the Taranaki Education Board is now orccting in New Plymouth, but whose lands aro not adequate for the erec. tion of a complete institution of this kind; (2) that we regret that the opin-

ion of our solicitor debars us from assisting tlic Taranaki Education Board in the erection of the said school; (3) that wo now appeal to the Hon.
