ST. ALDWYH'S COMMISSION REPORT. RADICAL PROPOSALS. ' Received 27,10.36 p.m. London, June 27. The St. Aldwyn's Commission recommend that the two Houses of Convocation sit together to prepare new ornaments for the rubrio, and to conlider modifications of other rubrics in fog!? relation to modern requirements, tnd shorter and more elastic services, alio that consideration should be given to the question of the Athanasian Creed. The Commission recommended the abolition of Episcopal veto on prosecutions for ritualism, and recom- ' mend that, persistently contumacious clergyman be deprived and inhibited, instead of imprisoned. They propose ■ new Court of Appeal for ecclesiastical cases, and in order to meet the icrnples of those hesitating to accept the Privy Council's authority; questions of doctrine and ceremonial should • he referred to an Episcopal Bench whose ruling would be final and accepted by the Court. Thus the authoritj of State over Church would be maintained.
