THE LATE MR SEDDON.
TRIBUTE FROM MR BENT. Mblboubkb, June 25. Mr Bent, the State Premier, paid a public tribute to the late Mr Seddon in the course of a speech. He said: •'A few days ago we had in our midst that great, large, bluff Briton and Imperialist, Mr Seddon, and now he has gone to God's own country. He had the patriotism of Bismarck, with the (harper conscience and aspirations of Rhodes, combined with the faculty of .•ealising his ideals. He vied with urladstone in State-craft, and won the praise of tho world. When the life of Bichard Seddon is written the British will be given an enduring monument."
