THE POLITICAL SITUATION.
ME MASSEY INTERVIEWED. PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wkdunotok, June 25. Mr W. P. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, interviewed as to the political situation, said the position of his p irty was not in the slightest measure affeoted by the reconstruction of the Government. On the question of an adjournment he would have something to say on the fbor of the House. Discussing other nutters he said reform was needed in various direotions, and particularly in the matter of the publio finances, fall details should be given to Parliament showing how every shilling of publio money was expended daring the previous year, and who received it. He farther intimated that the Political Eefortn League would continue its efforts.
THE WESTLAND SEAT. MB MESS ASSOCIATION. Hokitika, June 25. The election oampaign for the Weatland seat commenced this evening, when a most enthusiastio and crowded meeting of the supporters of Mr T. Y. Seddon was hold, the ladies being very prominent. A strong executive committee was formed and Mr M. Pollock appointed chairman. Steps were taken to organise sub committees in the country districts.
