The Hon. D. Pinkcrton, M.L.C.dicd at Dunediu on Saturday morning after a week's illness.

Mr Newton King, who has been on a visit to Wellington, returnod to Now Plymouth on Saturday. Messrs R. Cock, J. C. George, and W. J. Penn left New Plymouth by Saturday's bout to " do" tho South Sea Islands' trip. Mr R. Carpenter, of the Masterton " Tunes," and formerly of the Taranaki " Herald," has been on a brief visit to New Plymouth. He returns home by this morning's train.
