Melbourne, June 21. Tke Federal Government kas practically completed negotiations for a new Englisk mail contract. It is understood tkat neitker tke Peninsular nor Orient companies have secured the contract. Apparently a new line is about to enter the Anglo-Australian trade.
A REPORTED CONTRACT. Received 22,1.7 a.m. Sydney, June 21. An unconfirmed report from Melbourne states tkat tke Federal Government kas signed an Englisk mail contract, witk « powerful skipping combination, wkick proposes to spend four millions, and make special arrangements for tke carriage of Australian products.
