The weather was fine for the second day of the Winter Show, and the attendance was quite beyond anticipctions, Many visitors, principally dairy men or agents, are in town from all parts of the colony. Poultry wa» judged to-day. The oollectiop of bird* was unanimously eulogised by all thr Judges as one of the best they had seen* It was most representative in character, exhibitors from all parts of the colony sending birds, and prizos were equally listrihutcd over the colony. Wyanlottos were a great feature. In one section there were no leu than 60 entries, a reeord for the show and the colony. The North Island Poultry, Association championships were won u follows: Dorlrijw, 8. The U'.mMy Breeders Assooiatioa met at Palmerston North yesterdays The sub-oommittee appointed to arrange for an exhibit at the Christohnrch exhibition reported that it had taken 200 foot of space, and had circularised breeders inviting them to exhibit. Wool will be taken up to December Ist. Mr H, Cobb brought forward his notice of motion regarding the definition of Romney sheop. A committco consisting of Messrs G. Whoeler, A. Matthews, E. Short, It. Cobb, X'ultons, and P. Mungavin was appointed to draw up a- definition of a. typical Romney sheep, to be submitted, to tho next meeting. Four new members were elected. The question of trimming and unfair shearing was discussed at length, and generally, disapproval was expressed of any approach to unfair shoaring. The action of the Vfanan atu Association in adopting the Canterbury rule instructing the judges to withhold prizes in cases of clipping, was warmly approved. It was conceded that whilo trimming off the dirt, and dragged or worn wool, waa perfectly legitimate, the artifical shape sometimes produced was to be condemned.
