Mr \V. E. Spencer, Chief Inspector of tho Taranaki Education Board, was a passenger to Palmerstoa North yesterday on technical education matters. The Rev. N. A. Davis |has resigned from his position with the Now Zealand Alliance, and entored upon work for tho Baptist Union. He left Auckon Friday last, and is now conducting special services in New Plymouth. We learn that Mr W. Wilkes, a member of tho local staff of Messrs Malono, McVoagh, and Anderson, was a successful candidato in tho Solicitors' Law Professional examination, held in May last.

The Rev. flaperty, of Sydney, iins been offered tlie position of curate in tlie parish of St. Mary's, New Ply. mouth, to take charge of tlio southern portion of the parnrliiul district. He is expected to arrive here shortly.
