FOOTBALL.
A correspondent writesOn Satur. day the Central School football team in charge of Mr A. J. Harding travelled to Inglewood to meet a local team, and a good game resulted, tho play generally being of a high order. The passing of the Central backs was especially good. Tho country team was a good deal tho heavier and in better condition than tho town boys were. From a line out oarly in the first spell Julian for Central School scored what was undoubtedly a fair try near the. corner, but tho Inglewood lino umpire was absent from his post and on reaching it declared the ball improperly thrown in, and the try was disallowed. Shortly after Turner for Inglewood after a good ruu scored a somewhat lucky try on the cornor. No goal resulted. In the second spoil no further score resulted and the game ended Inglewood 3, Central School nil. For Inglewood Ingpou of tho Stratford District High School was the bost player on the ground and a tower of strength to his side. Turner at half also played a line game. For Contral Elliott at livo-eighth, was tho best player, his splendid lino kicking being of immense service to his side. Mr Crowley was reforee.
