PROPOSED GREYMOUTH MEMORIAL.
Gbbysiouth, June 16. At a special meeting of the Grey County Couneil a motion of reftret at the death of Mr Seddon, sod con* dolenoe with Mrs Seddon was passed. In the course of a lengthy resolution, it was stated that by the death of Mr Seddon, Councillors and the district had lost a dear and personal friend, the Colony its ablest leader and the Em* Dire one of its builders. The late Premier's past works speak for them* selves, and had he lived 'a few years longer, the Council feels satisfied he ■vould have made his beloved Colony, " God's Own Country," even better and / more famous for advanced and prolegislation. The Counoil will be represented at the funeral. Indications are that the proposed memoiral to Mr Seddon in this town will meet with warm support from people in the town and district. The matter is to be discussed at a public meeting to be held after the obsequies.
