KENNEL CLUB.
There was a good attendance at the meeting called for last night at New Plymouth to consider the matter of forming a Kennel Club for Taranaki. The meeting took place at the Council Chambers, Mr Alex Hill prosiding, It was decided to form the Club, officers being appointed as follows: President, Mr Newton King; vicepresidents, Drs. Walker, Wylio and McCloland, Messrs A. D. Stewart (Normanby), L. W. Alexander, D. O'Brien, J. Paul, W. Bewley, J. Smith, J. McTaggirt; committee, Messrs E. Whittle, A. Hill, J. Bennett, W. Murton, F, Fa?an, G. Bond, Little, E. P. WcVter; lion, veterinary surgeon, GV't- Young; secretary and treasurer, to bo filled. The subscription was fixed at 10s. Close on 60 members were enrolled. A letter was read from Mr A. B. Stewart, the owner of the Friioch Kennels, Normanby, stating that if the club were formed, he would do evorythmg in his power to further its interests. He also offered to take charge of the club's first show.—lt was decided to thank Mr Stewart for his generous offer. The New Zealand Kennel Club also wrote intimating that it would bo pleased to assist if the club wero formed. The Manawntu Kennel Club also wrote to the same elfect.
