Thames, Jnne 13. it & special meeting of the ThameCouuoil, attended by the "Mayor and all the Councillors and exMayor, eulogistic 'speeches were made regarding the splendid services rendered to the Colony by the late Mr Seddon. Resolutions were passed ap predating the groat effvts put forward by the late Premier in promoting the Colony's welfare. While in thai position he introduced and passed th most humane legislation for the uplift ing of humanity that has fallen to th' lot of aiy statesmen of the British Empire. The Council extended to MrSeddon then? heartfelt sympathy. The Council considered tint a niemoria l should be erejted, and expressed a wish to join in any such movement, and wil vote up to to the limit allowed by law for such purposes. It was asked thai the diy of the funeral be observed as & day of general mourning, all business premises to be closed.
