Mr Deakin telegraphed to the Press Association : •' Greatly shocked at the death of the Prime Minister of New Z.ialand. Have requested the GovernorGeneral to forward a message of sympathy and appreciation to the Governor of Now Zealand." Mblbouhns, June 11. The news created a sensation throughout the Stato. Flags were halfmasted on the public buildings. The Premier, Mr Bent, was greatly shocked on receipt of the news. Adelaidb, June 11. The news was received with the greatest grief by everybody, and all were tippallod by its suddenness. The Town Hall bells tolled.
