Our leading article and other matter, together with a number of advertisements, are crowded out, through the abnormal pressure on our space. •_, All night long, press messages dealing with the great matter of the moment have been pouring in to us from all parts of the Colony and Australia. As wo go to press, the budgets show no sit'u of abatement, and we are compelled to hold over many columns of matter appreciative of New Zealand's lamented great man.
The New Plymouth Gas Company invite applications for the purchase of fifty debentures of £SO oach. Tho debentures have a currency of five and a half years, bearing interest at 5 per cent.
On tho application of Mr Quilliam (Govett and Quilliam), probate of the will of the late Vlrs Whittle was granted by the Supremo Court of NewZealand to Edwin Whittle and John Bennett, the executors named in the will.

Mr A. H. Kendall was at Monday night's meeting of the Borough Council appointed sanitary engineer and general inspector for the borough of Kew Plymouth. There were thirteen applicant's. At its meeting last night the Egmont Lodge, 1.0. G.T., passed a resolution expressing the deepest sympathy with the family ot the late Mr Seddon in their sad bereavement.
The usual fortnightly meeting of tke Loyal Egmont Lodge, 1.0.0 P., M.U., was held last evening, the N.G.," C. A. Mathoson presiding. One candidate was initiated and another proposed for membership A letter of condolence was authorised to be forwarded to the Acting Prtmier, deploring the loss' to the order by the sad death of the late Premier, the P.G. R. J. Seddon. A report was read on the sick members from the Lodge Surgeon.
Mr W. A. Cathro has been actively interesting himself in the formation of a kennel club in New Plymouth. He has the names of about sixty gentlemen who are willing to become members, and a meeting of these is to be held on Thursday evening. There seems no reason for doubting the success of a kennel club if formed here, and we wish Mr Cathro and his colleagues every success. The number of illumi»anls on the market now is legion, those in connection with the gas especially. Among the latter we know of no better than the Block incandescent, which shows a truly marvellous light. We have recently installed the light throughout our office, and its working may be seen by anyone caring to call in. Messrs John Upton and Son are the locol agents.
