Jones. Emergencies: Howell, lliu-l.' Brake leaves Ambury's corner at 11.20 ma.. The Star team promises to be at its best on Thursday, as the result of steady practice. The Stratford senior arc jubilant at having at last secured a ' half-back. [They have tried several this season, but have not yet pliyed any man up to [senior form. Bullot, of the Tukapa i first juniors, is to play for the Med and Blacks. E. Young, the promising Stratford forward, is a brother of the well-known Joe Young, and has only played twice with the seniors. He should havo no difficulty in keeping in the team. ' v - There arc some alterations in rli'o' Star senior backs for Thursday. Richards will play at full, and Pike, Potior, and Pyeroft will form the three-quarter liuc. Joe Thomas fills his usual post at five-eighths, and Ladncr at half. Rothcry and Courtney are the wing forwards.
During the Okaiawa - Waimatc senior match on Saturday, Vallance, of the former team, had his ribs hurt. The Okaiawa team arc unfortunate. This is the second accident in succession they have sustained.
