The jury, after an hour's retirement, found William Knowles, laborer, guilty of the murder of his wife, with a strong recommendation to merey on account of the abnormal state of his mind. Prisoner made a long rambling state, ment, acousing Mrs Knowles of immorality. and finished up by singing some verses from the dook. Witnesses wero called to show that witness had suffered from insomnia, and was always worrying over his domestic grievances. Wben sentenced prisoner said he was prepared to meet his fate.
