ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
PEE PEBS 3 ASSOCITIPN. Auckland, June 7. The jockey, Samuel Fergus, who met with an acoident at Ellerslie in a hurdle race last Monday, died to-night. Deceaiea loaves a wife and four chillren, and a subscription list has bean well responded to. Fergus was 37 years of age and much respected. Dpnedi!?, Jun' 7. C. Cowan, a sheepfarmer at Nen thorn, was found drowned in an abandoned shaft. His dog was lying in the shaft alongside his master.
