WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.
At the meeting of the abovo Board, there were prosent Messrs Connett, T. French, E. Hollicr, J. Smith, and S. Turnbull.
Tho clerk roportod that only the three nominations of the members who had retired last year had been received. Mr S. Turnbull was re-elected chairman.
Mr Orbell, tho Board's engineer, attended the meeting, and roported that Messrs Cartwright and Colcsby had completed their metal contracts on the Kelly and Wortlcy roads. Tho Chairman reported that the new cutting on Kelly road lull had | made the entrance to Ackworth road dangerous, and it was resolved to fence tho cutting and widen the Ackworth road about six feet, charging half co.it of the same to the bridge account.
The clork was directed to draw up specifications for rccoaling about ten chains oa the llichmond road at L)pperton.
I The balanca sheet tho year ending March 31st last, was read. The receipts, including!) ilance of £403 from previous yenr, amounting to £'1286, the principal items being rates £l7O, Government grants and subsidy £370, County Council grant to cost of deviating the Te Arei road £3O, by sail of land, timber and metal £l2, ten per cent, additional 011 rates £7. The expenditure on roads and bridges amounted to £660, legal charges £l6, engineer's charges £l, salary £3l, refund to Waitara Borough being rates on roads included £l3, printing and advertising £26, It was resolved to hold a special meeting to accept tonders for repairs to Richmond road.
Accounts amounting to £204 were passed for payment, and tho Board rose.
