THE MUBBAY WATERS. Mblbovbnx, May 31, Ministers to-day completed a scheme for combining irrigation and wheat growing along the Murray frontages. Homesteads will bo granted along the river front about forty aores in extent, twenty of which will be irrigated. Each homestead will have an additional four hundred acres of inferior land. The charge for irrigation water trill not exceed fifteen shillings per annum.
CREEPJN BBOKEN HILL MINE . Stdsbv, May 31. A serious creep has occurred at the Central Mine, Broken Hill, also affeoting Block 10. The miners have been withdrawn from both.
At the Central the floor of the mil sank three feet, throwing the plant out of gear. '

In the House of Commons the Right Hon. Sidney Buxton (PostmasterGeneral) stated he was glad to announce that Great Britain had succeeded at the Posfal Convention in obtaining two considerable concessions. The first obtained was two additional votes, and the second the weight of foreign letters had been doubled, becoming au ounce. Tliis also embraces letters under the Imperial penny post.
