AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRIES.
FORESHADOWED PROTECTION. Received 30,12.55 a.m. Melbourne, May 29. A deputation in connection with the larvestcr question waited on' Sir W. r jyne. Replying, he said the first im,M>rtant measure next session would be iu anti-Trust Bill. He knew that the [ntern itionai Harvester Trust aud the Missey Harris Compaiy held half the trade in agricultural implement*. If they wauted our trade, they must come here and establish industries for themselves. He hoped to deal with the tariff during the coming session. The y had giveu the present tariff a good trial, aud it had failed in the majority of c isea. It was not a tariff of which a protectionist community could be proud.
