TE RANGI PAL
Tlio booking for Tc Bang! Pal's concert on Thursday night is progressing rapidly at the Dresden, and indications arc given of the concert being a huge success. Writing of the performance of the great contralto on Friday evening last at the Opera House, Wanganui, the " Chronicle'' says: " A delightful musical treat was provided at the Opera House last ovoning, when the Tc Rangi Pai Concort Company made their first, and, it is to be regretted, only appearance in Wanganui. The audience was one of the largest soon at a concert hero, the dress circle and stalls being fully occupied, while the pit accommodated a large number. Tho audience was as appreciative as it wa* large, and encored almost every number. The encores were not mere idle compliment, for each item, almost without exception, was of a high order of merit. Considerable interest was manifested in the re-appcarauce of the Princesn'xo Eangi Pai, of whose fine singing on the occasion of her previous visit very pleasant memories were retained. Though the Princess is far from well, she thoroughly pleased the audience, and showed that her recent visit to the Old Country, where she studied under the leading masters, had worked much improvement in her naturally fine voice. MrW B. Cadzow, who is by no means a stranger to Wanganui, has a nice tenor voice, which he uses to advantage. Mr Cadzow is one of the old favoritos, and is probably one of the most popular tenors that has ever visited the colony. The plan, for Tuesday night's concert in the Theatre Boyal is now on view at the Dresden.
