Mr Bamsay Mac Donald objected to simple Bible teaching in schools, because it was inadequate to secure ganuine religious instruction. Mr Balfour considered Mr Maddison's amendment cut the schools adrift from religion. Ho supported Mr Chamberlain. The debate was adiourned.
