On Saturday last a football team refused to take part in a senior match against the Wellington team on account of its objection to a referee who had been appointed by the Referees' Association. At a meeting of the Rugby Union to-night, It was decided to call the delegates together to pass a resolution compelling teams to play under referees chosen by the Association. The Petone-Wellingtoii match will he played later in the season.
