Wellington, May 23 Tho inquest on Gunner Hay, who shot Uirasolf at Fori Ballance yesterday, tho wife of deceased deposed that her husband had been under the impression for some time past that the men at the Fort attributed the death of Gunner Palmer to him. Palmer was the victim of a .gun explosion at the Fort some twelve months ago. When witness eame home yesterday he took up a rifle, and before she could secure assistance, ho had shot himself. Sergeant Heath and Gunner Murdoch deposed they had never heard that deceased was blamed for the death of Palmer, whioh was purely accidental. A verdict of temporary insanity was returned.
