Charles Mclutyre, aged 20, was found dead in bed this morning at his residence in Green street. He was al work yesterday, and in his usual health when to went to bed. An inquest will bo held to-morrow.

Dunedin, May 20.

At the inquest touching the death of William James Mearns, a railway shunter who was killed by a truck passing over him while engaged in a " flying shunt " in tho railway yard the evidence showed that Moarns was trying to push tho waggons apart when liis hand slipped and ho fell between the waggons and four wheels passed over him. The jury returned a verdict that death was purely accidental,, no blamo being attachable to anyone.
