Loudon, May 10. Sir H. Campbetl-Bannerman received a deputation of Commoners .regarding the Chinese on the Band. ; Proceeding! were secret, but it is understood they urged fercible repatriation of the Chinese, in batches, since the proclamation had been resultless. Tho "Daily Chronicle" states that the polioy of "clean sweep " waiimpossiblc. It would create an eoonomical frisis and inflct grave injury on the innocent, It woald be better to await the new Government's decision, which would probably decide for repatriation.
