Wanoanct, May 17, The Native Minister returned to Wangaaui to-night from Jerusalem, on the Wanganui river, where he has beon discussing with the Maoris the opening up of the Native land. He suggested that the Maoris should sell the TThak&ihuwaka block, of 90,000 aeres, and Taumatamahoe block, of 40,000 acres, and he offered them a price not leas than the Government valuation, whieh, he considered, was very reasonable. The scheme .was approved by the natives, and Captain Mair, Native land purchase officer, was left behind to carry out details aqd get the signatures of Maoris.
