A COWARD'S PUNISHMENT.

Allan Hiaoholiffe, aged 28, was found guilty at the Bupreme Court to-day, of thß attempted murder of Mabel Clark on February sth, anl also with attempted criminal assault. The facta of the ease were that Hinoheliffe, who had been out of work, was befriended hy a man named Clark and taken into hii home as a guest, While staying at Clarke's, Hinoholiflt beeaW £& mate with one of Clarke's' daughters. The mother, in the course of time, suspected that something was wrong; with her daughter, and asked her to see a doctor. This the girltefusod to do. She told Hinoheliffe of her mother's suspicions, and ho, saying "we will die together,"- adtnifiistered aconite to the girl and took a doso himself. Both were in great peril afterwards.
