FOOTBALL.

SOUTHERN DIVISION MATCHES (BY TELBGBAPH— SPECIAL TO "NEWS.") The following are the results of Saturday's cup fixtures in the Southern Division;— SENIORS. i ELTHAM—OKAIAWA. Okaiawa defeated Eltham on Taumata Park (Eltham) on Saturday by 3 to nil. Radford scored for Okaiawa from a forward rush in the second spell. Carroll took the kick at goal and failed, though the position was a good one. The game was evenly contested, until half-way through the second spell, when the Eltham forwards were showing signs of want of condition. Eltham's backs were superior to the visitors', E. Dive standing out as the finest player on the ground. Mr Urwin acted as referee.

TATEA—OPPNAKE. The above match, which involved the Opunake team in a 100 mile journey, was played at Patea on Saturday. Patea, which is an improving combination, won after a good game by 11 points (goals from a try, mark and free kick) to 0. HAWEBA—TVAISUIE. The above match, played at Manaia, was a splendidly contested game, rtsulting in a win for Hawera by 11 points to 9.

FIRST JUNIORS. The Hawera—Waimate A match, played at Hawera, resultod in a draw, each side scoring 3 points. Waimate B (Kaponga) journeyed to Opuuake, and signalled their admission to the cup fixtures by defeating Opunake by 19 points to nil. The result of the Eltham-Okaiawa fixture, played at Okaiawa, was not available when the telegraph office closed. Patea had a bye.

SECOND JUNIORS. Eltham third, defeated Waimate third at Eltham by nine to nil. For Eltham, Wilson and Colson scored tries, and Sim kicked a penalty goal. The game was uninteresting, Eltham having the best of the game right through. Mr Betts had charge of the whistle, The Hawera third fifteen visited Patea and suffered defeat by 5 points to 3, Okaiawa had a byo,

THE ASSOCIATION GAME. A meeting of delegates of the Taranab Association Football Union was held at Inglewood on Thursday, delegates being present from Hawera, liltham, Inglewood, and New Ply. mouth The Rev. J. A. Jacob, Hawera, was elected Chairman. Hawera, Eltham, and Kaponga clubs were affiliated to the Association. It was agreed that North and South sub-divisious should he formed. Each division will appoint its own selector for a North and South match, the two selectors to be present and select the representative team. A suggestion was made that each division appoint its own referees and submit names to the Union. The southern division was asked to nominate two Vice-Presidents for the Uuion. FIXTURES.
