PERSONAL.
Mr W. Corkill is expected to return to-night from a visit to Christchurch. Mr W. Swadling, chairman of the Kaponga Torn Board, is at present making a short stay in New Plymouth. Mr Allen Hill, who has been in Mr E. ;J. Carthew's office for some time, left for W cllington on Friday morning, having received an appointment in the Land Tax Department. Mr James Wells, of the Valuation Department, who has been in New Plymouth asssisting the district valuer, left for Wellington on Friday. Mr R. L. Mcllroy, M.A., who for a nnmber of years has been first assistant master at St. John's Collegiate School, The Pah, Onehunga, is shortly leaving that institution having accepted the position of first assistant master of the Central School, New Plymouth. Before entering on liis new duties, says the "Auckland Weekly Nows," Mr Mcllroy will assume the responsibilities of matrimony, his wedding with Miss Barber, daughter of the late Mr Joseph Barber, and of Mrs Barber, Thornholme, Grafton Road being set down for the 4th prox.
