SECOND DAY. PBB PBESS ASSOCIATION. Napieb, May 10. The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting was concluded today. The weather was Urn 1 , though cold. Thero was again a large attendance. The sum of L 9275 was put through the totes, making a total of L 19.716 for the two days, an increase of L 5636 on last year's figures. Hesuits :

ASHBURTON MEETING. PBR PRESS ASSOCIATION. Ashbdeion, May 10. There was a fairly good attendance on the first day of the Ashburton County Racing Club's Autumn meeting. Although there were no exalting finishes, the racing was interesting. The recent heavy rains made the course somewhat holding. Results: Longbeach Hack Handicap: Assegai (R. King) 1, Grosvenor 2, Mango 3. Scratched: Vardo, Stepmar, Waikara?op. Assegai assumed command at the'head of the straight and won by two lengths dTwi a Lalf, Time, 1.33. Dir., £1 12s. Fairfield Welter: Bombastes (L. G. Sing) 1. Bagpipes 2, Lee Enfield 3. These were the only starters. Bombastes just lasted long enough to win by a neck. Thue, 146 3-5. Dir., £2 12a.
Ashburton Handicap: Makaroff (R. W. King) 1, Tsitsihar 2, Hilarity 3. Scratched : Convoy, Czirevna. After leading all the way Makaroff won easily by nearly three lengths. Time, 2.121-5. Div., £ll4s.
