Twenty- five cases of ptomaine poisoning are reported in Palmcrston, as the results of eating pressed ox tongue, purchased from a local pork butcher on Saturday night. In three instances whole families were down. The effects of the poisoning do not appear to be serious, though some of the sufferers ,-are still confined to their bods, and • others are left in a weak condition. It : i< reported that several other eases of 'Ws severity have also aeurred in the idigtrict, all traceable to the same taui*.
