AMUSEMENTS.

MR J. C. WILLIAMSON'S COMIC OPEKA COMPANY. To-morrow morning at 9 o'clock the box plan for the aboyc season will be opened at the Colonial Piano Co. and early enquiries predict a large booking. A rich and rare treat for the music loving public is Mr J. C. Williamson's Comic Opera Company. The first production on Friday will be the last work of Messrs Gilbert and Sullivan's, "Utopia Ltd." or "The Flowers ot Progress." " Utopia Ltd. " has proved a seusatioal success. The Australian press report, "Age"-.—"We can only advise our readers to go and judge for themselves whether the author has ever excelled, or even equalled, some of the humorous touches that mark this last of the Gilbert and Sullivan series. The " London Times " says, " Since the Gondoliers indeed, it is hard to remember any work ot the same hands that is worthy to' stand besides this new production for pointed .dialogue and easily assimilated music." On Saturday they stage Messrs Gilbert and Sullivan's charming work, " The Gondoliers." It is so many years since this charming opera was last heard here, that the present production will come with a delightful freshness. The opera is musically unsurpassed, while its excellent humour and brilliant satire has never been excelled. Both these productions will be presented on the same lavish scale which has characterised all Mr Williamson's previous productions. The company is a highly capable one, and contains many of the most brilliant operatic stars in the colony. The ladies and gentlemen of the chorus will again be a special feature of the season. The productions are staged under the supervision of Mr Henry Bracy, and a full and cllieicnt orchestra is in the hands of Mr Geo Hull. musically promises a huge feast to theatre goers, and a prosperous time should eventuate.
