CABLES TO THE PREMIER, NEW ZEAL ANDERS REPORTING THEMSELVES. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, May 3. M.r Spreckles cabled from San Francisco to the Premier to-day as follows; The following ask to be reported safe James Crqss (Dunedin), J. Y. Bartholomew (Foilding), J. M, Finlayson (Dunedin), W. J. Smith (Wellington), M. J. Donovan (Auckland), Mr and ,Mrs Dudley and child (Auckland), Mrs M. O'Doherty and family (Auckland), H. Greenway (Taranaki), Andrew Salmond (Nelson), William Whitelaw Harris (Nelson). Have a large list of applications for relief."

Advice was also received by the Premier to-day from Mr Smith, New Zealand agent at San Fransico, to the following effect: "No deaths of Now Zealanders are known. The British Consul's cable of April 28th covers the situation. The addresses given now are useless. Dr Stinson, a Canadian, was killed. The .San Franciso peoplo are doing splendid work. Send all subscriptions to them, not to the authorities. K will take weeks to trace the list. Will report later."
