AUCKLAND TECHNICAL SCHOOL

SAVINGS BANK PROPOSAL. PES riIESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, May 2. An important resolution in regard to tho proposed new Technical School for I Auckland was passed at a meeting of the trustees of tho Auckland Savings Bank this afternoon. It was almost unauimously decided to ask the Premier to introduce into Parliament a Bill, during the coming session, to enable the trustees to devote £IO,OOO of the accumulated funds of the bank (which amounts to about £75,000) towards the cost of erecting a Technical School. A recommendation to the same effect was made some two years ago by a committee which was appointed to go into the question. At that time, however, tho trustees did not consider the time was opportune to take the step now decided upon.
