TARIFF REVISION.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PROPOSALS. PER PBBSB ASSOCIATION, Auckland, May 1. The Chamber of Coiniuorce adopted reports to-day suggesting amendments in the tariff; the appointment of independent boards representing oacli braneh of commerce to consider all questions concerning the tariff, and t( prevent such anomalies as at presoßt exist. Tho reports urged that the dutj be taken off potatoes, or only 10s per ton duty imposed, ami recommended further speeial tariff arrangements with Canada, and reciprocity with Australia for surplus products, A duty of,2d |)er pound on packets of less than 411 of tea was urged. Parliament and all Chambers of Commerce arc to bo furnished with a copy of tho report.
