The Southland Inspector of the .Health Department has notified various rabbit exporters of liig intention to keep i watchful eye on consignments of rabbits forwarded to them by trapper?, and to seize all from which the intestines, etc., are not effectually and cleanly removed, as well as those diseased or tainted, and to institute proceedings against the persons responsible. This is the first official recognition by any Government Department of the rabbit export industry, which they previously discountenanced.
