Bidding tor beef was scarcely as • brisk as the previous week, oxen.showing a decline on last week's values, cow 17s to 20s per 1001b. Steers sold at from La 17s Cd to L 9 17 s 3d, cows Ll 2s fid to L 8 us. Sheep: Wethers sold at from 18s 9d to Ll os 6d,ewes 16s 6d to Ll 3s. A quantity of furniture and sundries was disposed of at ordinary prices.
Fruit :• During the week prices ruled as follows Dessert apples 2s to Bs, cookers Is to ss, pears 2s 6d to 6s, oranges 3s to 7s, tomatoes 2s Cd to ss, grapes (bad order) 2s 6d.
