AUSTRALIA'S DEFENCE SCHEME.
Loni'O.v, April 26. Lieutenant Carlyon Beilairs, interviewed, considers that Captain Cresswell greatly underestimates the cost of his Australian defence scheme. Lieut. Beilairs declares that the present Aug. t(alian squadron is quite inefficient, as the vessels are unarinoured. Sir John Colomb, in an interview, declared that Captain Cresswell ovcr- | rates the dangers of attack from armed merchant cruisers.
