Comparing the times, the astronomer, Mr Baracohi, computes that it took 80 minutes to travel from San: Francisco to Melbourne, a rate of two miles a seeond, which is not an unusual pace, cases being recorded of a speed of seven miles.

Miss Tittell Bruno is advised that tier property at San Francisoo, valued at £2OOO, has been totally destroyed.
