Stavshoot was one of tlie least distressed horses after the run for the Easter Handicap, and is said to be in great condition. The well-known raee-horsc Tomaraugi dropped dead on the Awapnui racecourse the other morning, after doing his morning exercise. Leonator has proved himself, to be one of the best railers racing in Auckland at the present time. The Leolantis go'ding cut out the mile on the first day of the Auckland meeting in 1.42 2-5, carrying 10.6—a pretty good go. Munjeet, the favorite, finished fourth in the Great Easter Handicap. Mobility, who won the Easter in Auckland, is related to Marguerite on the dam's side, Montreal being a full sister to Hu;uenot. Moslem, who won the Farmers' Plate at Patoa, is a fine big gelding by Lakeshcll, and may prove himself capable of winning a better race ere long. The totaiisator receipts at the last Auckland meeting represented an increase of £13,446 on the amount handled at the same meeting last year.
