PRINTERS' LIABILITY.
QUESTION OF IMPRINTS. PEtt MUSS ASSOCIATION. Dcxkdi.v, April 19. At the Police Court to-day, Francis James McCall'ery, alias A. Morris, was charged with dispersing printed paper on which the name and place of abode ®f 'he printer thereof was not printod. These documents, purportiug to be legal documents, were sold to firms who thought they would be useful in bringing bad marks to book. Accused said he was a canvasser in Wellington, and had disposed of the forms, not knowing he was doing wrong. It app»ared some of the forms wore printed in Australia and some in Christchurch. A line of £5 and costs or 11 days was imposed, the charge of forging the documents not being with. Counsel for the dofencc pointed out that the printers were liable. Tho law was broken daily. Those who distributed tracts, etc., were breakins the law, but they were not molested.
